My name is Ashleigh, and I am a chef hailing from Houston. Unlike a lot of other cooks and chefs, this was not always my original passion. I spent my formative years as a musician and singer, and even went on to study opera at a particular conservatory in New York and then music business at NYU. Then, a lot of life happened. Several people I was in contact with really sparked my love of cooking but most of all I was, inexplicably, drawn to the science of food and found myself to be rather adept at cooking. I decided I had to know more, and so back I went to school. Five years later, I have a degree in Culinary Arts from the Art Institute of Houston, and also did some studying previously in Nutrition and Food Science at University of Houston. For the last two years, I worked as the Head Culinary Expert at Williams Sonoma in Highland Village, where I honed my skills as a cooking instructor and really fell in love with teaching people how to cook and hopefully imparting a little bit of the joy that can be found in the kitchen. I am hoping to continue down that path and then some with The Lady Is A Chef.
I also serve the Houston area, offering small party catering, personal chef services, and private in home cooking classes. Please contact me at theladyisachef@gmail.com or via my facebook page if you are interested in finding out more.
